Message: Has anyone heard or installed the Gibson dual exhaust on a 4.7L Dakota? I'm curious how it sounds and performs. I currently have a Flowmaster 40 single out. Anyone know how it compares?

Message: I just put Gibson single sweptside on my 4.7; seems a bit quieter than some of the others but doesn't seem to be much restriction - you can look straight thru the pipe going thru the muffler, has little cheese grater type bumpouts on that pipe. Not annoying at all in the cab.

Message: I have a Magnaflow single in dual out exiting behind the wheel wells on my '01 QC. I didn't get straight pipes as I feared damaging the pipes when 4 wheeling, and didn't want the exhaust blowing against my travel trailer when towing. I love the system, has an awesome rumble to it but not to loud at all when on highway. I get compliments on the sound of the exhaust all the time! No doubt that there is a v8 under the hood when you hear the exhaust note! Good luck to you whatever you decide to do.

Message: I recently put flowmaster 50 series single in Dual 2.5" out on my 01 4.7 QC. It sounds great at an idle and roars to life. Highway is pretty quiet but it lacks definition while I am going through the gears casually. When I get on it its definately noticeable I also have a K&N cold air and gibson shorty headers so the sound may be different for you.
