Subject: Exhaust IP: Logged
Message: Im going to put a dynomax exhaust on my 1997 dakota v8 and the heat shield for the catalytic converter is rattling, would i be alright to put the new exhaust on without changing the cat or will taht create more problems in the future?

Message: Is the heat shield rattling or is it actually the cat rattling? I've had cat's rattle in the past when they have gone bad. If that's the case, then I would get it replaced when you get your exhaust done. Or else it's gonna rattle with your new exhaust system and probably annoy the heck out of you when all you want to hear is the rumble from your new exhaust! Have them check it out at an exhaust/muffler shop if you're not sure. Good luck and I hope you like your exhaust system as much as I like my Magnaflow system.
