Subject: 20 vac, 5# boost on 9# pulley IP: Logged
Message: I am only makin 5# boost and have a 20vac at idle on a 9# pulley.
Is it just cause my motor is worn out or is it just a crappy powerdyne?

Message: That is about right for a truck mounted powerdyne. The 9# runs around 6# on a truck engine. You can get a different pulley. I have also heard that a standard alternator pulley is close to the size of a 11-13# pulley. Make sure you have a good ignition like an MSD 6BTM and a bypass valve before playing with more boost. And get it tuned, or you will blow head gaskets on a regular basis.

Message: I run at about 18 when cold and 16 when warm on the 5.2L. As for pully size, how do you know its a 9# pully? Where are you measuring boost? What RPM are you turning? If the pully is small, you may be getting belt slip. Have you ever had a different pully on there?

Message: WOT the only thing WOT does is close your bypass valve. It doesn't have much to do with boost after that. Your boost level is related to engine RPM. On the dyno I hit 7psi. On the street I can only get about 6. The setup I have is also a 8-9psi kit.
I wouldn't worry about the vaccum. That is normal.

Message: Hello, I need a pulley 4 1 / 2 "for a Powerdyne because I have it installed on 4 cyl. 4g63 Talon Mitsubishi pulley 91 with a 6" and the 8500 RPM motor makes. If I can find tells me to buy. Thanks Joe.
