Howdy: I have a 98' Dak 5.2/4x4/auto, and the brake light and abs light on the dash comes on occasionally, but the brakes still feel good as they always have. Anything in particular I should check out before taking it to the shop? Thanks.

i had my brakes go out on the freeway on my 98 5.2 2wd 151000miles and the abs and brake light never warned me of a problem until the brakes went out. i felt the pedal get easier to push down before the hole system fail.
the stealerships charge us $1300 and they replace everything. same day drive through the canyons the rear brakes went out. took it back to the dealer and it was just a valve by the master cylinder costing $200 once they replace that my brakes have been fine.

that also can be for a sensor in the axle, so i have heard.
let us know of the problem when you get it fix.

is your speedometer working properly? it could be the RWSS(rear wheel Speed sensor) located in the differential.

Yes, the speedo seems to be working correctly. From this, and another recent thread concerning this issue I do believe i'll check the rear diff speed sensor. thanks guys.:-)

I had the same issue but I lost my speedo too. Replaced the sensor this morning, had to go to dealer to buy, but now my lights are still on though the speedo is back. Any suggestions????

I had the dealer replace mine, and new ball joints/alignment same time...ouch.lol
