Subject: adding mods to superchips IP: Logged
Message: there is a warning in the manual for the superchips tuner that says the tuner is made to program a stock engine and that performance may be lost if a modified engine is tuned...wtf! this makes no sense! can anyone help me understand this?

Message: a stab in the dark, but maybe superchip's becomes less noticeable with it on or off with a lot of mods.
when its stock you will really feel a increase in power.

Message: actually, i believe it's because the programming is set up to enhance a "stock" motor only.

Message: i thought the same thing, daddio. but i've seen a lot of profiles with heavily modded engines and the superchips tunner with it...so are these people seeing performance issues? later on i'd like to replace my headers and exhaust as well as the intake, but I'm hestitating a little bit after reading that warning...i guess the only way to find out is to add the modifications and find out!

Message: Some use the superchip program in thier modified motors because that program is better suited for their setup than the stock program.

Message: i think that most people with "modded" engines, i.e. cams, etc. would benefit more from a custom flash. they could better match the fuel and timing curves to meet the engines needs than the generic superchips programming.
