Message: Where can I find the paint code for a white Shelby Dakota? I have not found an ID plate with the info on it. The truck is in the paint shop right now and we are trying to get the code so the paint is mixed right.
I just bought the truck and the first thing to do is cover the primer with paint. I am going to use the truck to tow my race car with and it will look good doing it!

Message: Don't know if this helps, but it's the same as for any 1989 Dakota Sport.

Message: Again, the Shelby uses the Dakota V6 Sport as a starting point. It'll easily handle tow duties for a race car. In fact, the gen1's even had a 5th wheel option....not that I'd wanna be behind one pulling an 8,000lb trailer, but it could do it. The Shelby will fare better with the greater torque. Just remember, do not tow in overdrive unless you have had the tranny rebuilt with hi-strength/hi-perf. parts and have a large tranny cooler. With OEM parts, the tranny will fry. You should add a large tranny cooler even for steet duty. The OEM external cooler on the Shelbys isn't great. Since you're gonna tow with it, get the TranGo kit installed, even on a stock rebuild it's a huge improvement for durability.

Message: I know all about towing out of O/D...... I preach that to every customer I have rebuilt their O/D trannies for when they burned them up!
One of my friends has a red Shelby and I have towed my race car (AMC Spirit) with it a few times. It does a decent job, just don't be in a hurry!
There are two different pearl whites and a bright white listed in the PPG paint chip book and they are all very similar. That is why I am trying to get the color code so I can get the right one.
