Subject: Tire equivalent IP: Logged
Message: I have a 99' R/T and the stock tires it came with are 255-R55/17. What size tires can I substitute them with where it won't effect my speedometer. I would prefer to go wider rather than narrower.

Message: 275/50/17's are the same height, just a little wider so they wont affect the speedo.

Message: Speaking of bigger tires... my 92 has bigger than factory tires and my speedo and odometer are thrown off, example 50 mph on my speedo is actually about 60, approximately.
Is there anything I can do to correct it, without going back to factory tires?

Message: That's for the newer trucks. For the '92, you may be able to compensate by changing the gear in the speedo cable drive from the tranny.

Message: Thanks for the info, I'll see what the dealership here can do if it's not too expensive...
