Message: Hey I got 2000 Dodge Dakota club cab with the 4.7. I have a Airaid cold-air intake system, a Poweraid throttle body spacer, and a Flowmaster 40 series muffler on it. I was wondering if there are any other cheaper ways to boost the horsepower? I know a couple options are headers, chip, or a programmer, are those my only options? If so which one will be the best for this engine and will show me the most gains?

Message: Ported Throttlebody from fastman or F&B, H.O. Intake manifold and H.O. Cam. Ditch the TB spacer, it's doing nothing except adding weight.

Message: Headers aren't a big power adder to the 4.7...stock manifolds flow very well.
The HO Cams and Intake (Jeep Grand Cherokee parts) are excellent parts...I have the cams but haven't picked up the intake yet. Do a search, you'll find a TON of info.
The SuperChips tuner seems to be a good one also, need to get one myself.
'02 4.7 HO, ArmorThane spray-in...FUN and MINE!

Message: yeah take that TB spacer off and use it as a paper weight. thats all its good for. stay away from Jet chips as we have a learning pcm in our trucks and will override the chip and put everything back to the origional settings. also some peopel have gotten the check engine light when install the chip. the programer is your best bet as it takes your stock program and stores it. then reprograms your PCM. the HO cams would be a must and works great with the programmer. prob also relocate your IAT sensor from your manifold to your intake hose.
synthetic fluids can give you a few extra ponies. not alot but will add some more.

Message: It won't give you more power, but you will go faster with a set of gears. If you have the 3.55's you should consider the 3.92's or 4.11's depending on your tire size. Most people have posted no change in mileage or slight gains in both city and highway.

Message: you can fully open the exhaust with mandrel bent pipe from the headers back with a highflow cat, you may need to get an o2 sim, this isn't exactly cheap, but it will help.

Not cheap? It's like $2.50 max. Google spark plug defouler o2 sim. I made one. Works perfectly with my Magnaflow 14109 and full 3" exhaust.
