Message: My cruise controal almost never works. When I can get it to work (by trying it all the time and also randamly) it will shut off if I go around a mild turn or over a bump in the road. Any idea what this might be. Oh ya and when it does work and then shuts off after going around a turn or over a bump the reset button will not reactivate it. Any Help would be great.

Message: I had that problem in my 1993 5.2 liter Dakota, the cruise would work randomly, though it didn't have anything to do with bumps. I always thought it was a vaccuum issue. But then a Dodge mechanic told me it was possibly one of the two sensors in the throttle body. They were probably just in need of a good cleaning or replacement.
Now I had that problem in my 1998 Nissan Frontier too, and it WAS affected by bumps. This was an aftermarket cruise control I'd had installed because I couldn't afford it on the truck when it had to be bundled with a whole package. As it turned out, I had found the problem in a wire tap for the cruise wire going to the RPM sender on the distributor.
