Message: My friend has for his 2002 camaro. It was very pricy..I think he said it was 1200 dollars for the program plus the cable that goes to the Diagnostic connecter. Plus you have to have a nice laptop to run it also. They have them for 4.6 mustangs also. And I have seen them for other cars too but dont remember off the top of my head. Im sure they will come out with one sooner or later for the 4.7 but I think for the 5.2/5.9 it will never happen.

Message: Autotap wont adjust anything. Just read codes and sensors. Basic stuff unless you spend $400.
Its better than nothing though. It will show O2
and TPS for $180. Not much else.
It also has a crashing problem in wINDOWS. Have to re-connect often.

Message: I've only seen them for f-body's and vettes also. The program is great, but you have to REEEAAALLLYYYY know what you are doing to even think about writing a different fuel map. My buddy used his only to take a program already written and flash his PCM with it. That was on a 96 TA. He bought his used for a couple hundred bucks.
Personally I'd stick with a professionally done program. They have the ability to test the snot out of them unlike a normal guy who would be doing trial and error probably for the life of the vehicle. Just my opinion though.

Message: I beleive Sicminds is interested (as am I) because he has a Supercharger and wants to "tune" his motor. I have the 4.7 and as of yet can not find a "stand alone" unit for it.

before?
I don't know if it writes back to the PCM, but it's definately a less expensive option for reading the info..
