I'm replacing my trans in my dak this weekend. And I wanted to know if anyone has replaced there's without taking the exhaust crossover pipe off. I've replaced many manual trannys , Just not an automatic. Let me know.

just relplaced mine 2 days ago. well rebuilt it and put it back. if you have the 3in body lift you do not have to take the exhaust off. but if you don't you have to :(

Thanks for the reply lucas, I took the trans out last night and found out I had to take the exhuast off. Auto trans are a pain in the a$$ to take out. Why does dodge have to put so much crap around the trans to get in the way. Thanks again for the reply.

Cowboy, you might as well replace the seal on the transfer case, it will start leaking if it already hasn't. How many miles do you have on yours? 88,000 now for me, bought it with 52,000 9 months ago, haven't had to replace much.

I replacing the seal when I put the new trans in tonight. My truck has 75,000 on it . Who ever had the truck before me didn't take care of the it. I just replaced the timming chain and put all new gaskets on the whole engine. I hope to god nothing leaks!!!

I just cut the bolts off the cross over pipe and drop it anyways, they're just nuts and bolts thru the manifolds
