Yeah, it's true, they are coming out with a Dakota R/T for the 2006 model year. I've seen photos of it and it has nothing on the 2nd gen R/T. It's still boxy and plastic looking like the 05s, and with the acception of a hood scoop and paint scheme, it doesn't look destinquised between a regular Dak. No big rims or nothing. An a 4.7 HO under the hood?? Can you say HEMI

it will have 260hp and the tq will probably be 315 to 330. its rims are ugly if they would have put some 18s on it it would like good. the body style is growing on me.

it will have 6spd manual or 4spd auto. that manual would be prefect to convert your boring old auto to sweet 6spd. in the 4.7 of couse.

oh that would be sweet. i also heard that they are extending the SRT line up with the SRT-4 Caliper, and a SRT-8 Ram with the 6.1 HEMI

that is the ugliest piece of crap ive ever seen. i find it awkward that they'd keep the R/T badge around for the dakota.... isnt just about everything "srt" nowadays? its also pretty sad a shotty 260 ponies and even less torque than the previous gen r/t...
way to go dodge... another piece of crap to hit the streets

Sad, really. A tacked on hood scoop and stickers. The least they could have done was to bump the power some more over the standard Dakota to make it "special".

well... you cant expect much... the first dak r/t was literally a ram motor in a dakota. the next r/t... keeping with tradition should be at least the lowly 5.7 hemi in a dakota.... but to stick with the 4.7.. is an UTTER dissapointment
