The drivers side brake caliper broke off while going down the road in my 2002 Dakota QC 4x4. Just two months ago the dealer put new pads and rotors on. I am tired of stuff falling off the truck.........Time to trade it in and say good bye to the world of dodge.

don't you think since the dealer was the last to touch the brake system that may have something to do with the caliper "falling off"? i would.

That was my first conclusion. But that is not the first thing to fall off. My local mechanic is putting a new caliper on as we speak. My conclusion is the truck is just worn out with only 49 thousand miles on it. I am going to buy my new GM today.

even if the dealer was the last to touch it. its the dealers word over the owner. you have to prove it which is near impossible. after all dealerships can do no wrong. I dont think your dodge is worn out. I think the dealership didnt tighten the bolts down on your caliper. I would check your passenger side one to right away. if the driverside fell off I bet the passenger side isnt far behind.

Well I picked up a brand new chevy avalanche yesterday. I LOVE IT. I don't even miss the dakota. This will be my 5th GM product and I had no problems with any of them. But of course I never had no problems with my first dodge that I ever had. But the dakota was crap.
