Simple thing would be the linkage to the throttle body is out of adjustment.
If it's not, then you may have a stuck valve/governor in the tranny.
Do a search and someone on here should have the instructions for setting that throttle linkage to the tranny. I think it takes two people to really do it. One holding it floored and one pressing the release button to adjust the cable at the Throttle Body.
That's why i like my electronic auto tranny :)

thanks for the info. thats a nice truck but i bet my 5.2 is faster. were you the one building up the duster or something like it.
