Subject: 4.7 21psi radiator cap IP: Logged
Message: There must have been a TSB somewhere along the line. I just replaced the top radiator hose with intregal radiator cap on my 2001 4.7. The original was 18psi, but the superceded part is now 21psi. I had the Dodge dealer parts double check, and sure enough, its 21psi now. Better temperature management?

Message: No. Just higher working pressure before the coolant "boils" out into the overflow tank. About 260 degrees F.

Message: I was wondering if D-C raised the pressure to even out the coolant temperature throughout the cooling system, i.e. "hot spots".
