Subject: Adding Power Windows

Message:
I have a 2000 CC 4X4. I'm thinking about attempting to convert my manual crank windows to power windows. Has anybody done this? If I went to the local junk yard for the parts, besides the switches and motors, what else would I need to make sure I take?
Thanks as always

just curious, did you get the entire door panels when you grabbed the switches and motors from the junk yard? seems you'd want to use those as well, wouldn't you?

I haven't gone to the bone yard yet, I was waiting for an anwer on how difficult it would be. Your point is correct though, I would need to take the door panels as well since mine have the hold where the current window crank sits.

you may need to get the window regulators also. it would be nice if you could find a donor truck the same color and just swap doors.

My truck is solar yellow. I'm not sure if people were afraid of the color back then or what, but it doesn't seem like there are that many around. Finding a donor yellow donor truck is probably pretty difficult but it would be the the easiest solution. I'd more than likely pick up power locks and mirrors as well if I did find one with power windows.

or you could just paint the doors off any donor truck.
