Poll: I touched on this subject in another thread and it got me curious...how do your oil pressure gauge readings vary as your RPM increases from idle to around 3 grand?

Mine usually is at the top line of the normal range; pretty much irrespective of RPM. Sometimes at idle it's around the middle of the gauge, but after I give a little throttle it jumps back to the top mark.

I hope this is the way it's supposed to behave, as both my trucks do this.

My '00 Dak Quad Cab 4.7 auto is the same way. Pretty much regardless of RPM's, my opg is JUST below the last line of the normal range. Unless the truck has been sitting idle for about 2-3 minutes does it drop to about half.... Was worried about this as well when I first bought it, until I read a LOT of posts on here about this same issue w/ the 4.7's. Oh well, maybe this will all change once I change over to synthetic.

OIl pressure CAN drop with thinned oil. And the oil does thin when it's heated up.
Doesn't sound like anything to worry about.

You should see the oil pressure movements on the 6.0 Liter Chevy I drive for work. It moves up and down a LOT with RPM's.

Modain. I just noticed something. You listed as BOTH your Dakota and Durango being programmed with the SuperChips.

So I'd have to ask... DId you buy a TWO SuperChips programmers so you can program both of them? Otherwise, I'd think you'd need to do a "return to stock" on the one before programming the other.

Just Curious.

I am the happy owner of two programmers. I was swapping the first one I bought between the two trucks as needed.

But then I got to where I didn't want to give up the speedo correction it gives because of the bigger than stock tires I'm running on the trucks (and it makes the Durango drive better). So I bought the second one.

After checking at the dealer to have them reprogram the computer for the correct tire height I decided to put the $120 they wanted towards the programmer instead. I got both of them for under $300 each.
