Message: 1. Check the power steering sensor switch for fluid residue around and inside the connections, clean them, plug back in.
2. Replace PCV and clean out through the oil filler cap its connected to, Walla no codes! This was a 2000 Dakota 4.7L 135,000 mi.

Message: OK GUYS. I GOT A 1998 DAKOTA WICH I DRIVE EVERY SINGLE DAY. THIS P0171 CODE CAME UP. WAS BURNING GAS LIKE CRAZY AND ALL THE SIMPTOMS I REED ABOVE. SO I WAS GOING TO CHANGE THE o2 SENSOR. WHEN I TOOK IT OFF. THE PLUG WAS A LITTLE BURT FROM THE TOUCHING THE MUFFLER. I BROKE THE PLASTIC PROTECTION ON THE WIRES TO INSPEC THEM. I FOUND THAT MOST OF THE WIRES WERE BURNT AND TOUCHING ONE ANOTHER SO I CUT BACK AND RE-JOIN THE WIRES AGAING ACORDINGLLY... I TOOK THE TERMINALS ON THE BATTERY TO RESET CODE. CODE WENT AWAY AND MY TRUCK IS BACK TO NORMAL I ENDED UP USING THE O2 SENSOR THAT IT HAD AND RETURNED THE NEW ONES. PLEASE CHECK YOUR HARNESS AND TRACE IT BACK AT LEAST 2 TO 3 FEET FROM CONNECTOR. HOPE YOU GUYS HAVE THE SAME LUCK I DID... PLZ POST YOUR RESULTS...

Message: Hey I have an 04 dakota 4.7 v8 rebuilt about 3,000 miles ago
but had 106,000 on it before the rebuilt. It was running
sluggish and I notice it was less responsive so I replace the
fuel pump and filters which are in the tank. Ran great for like 2
hours and had a lot of power. Then it started sputtering and
idling ruff. I ran some injector cleaning in it and didn't help. Any
ideas ? Should I replace O2 sensors. Couldn't find any
vacuum leaks. Not sure what direction to go.
