Has anyone heard of this for supercharged motors? Something to do with adding another one on? Some one i know was talking about it but i wasn't sure about it.

I read a little while ago that either Toyota or Nissan's high performance division was offering as supercharger kit that also added another injector (7th in that case) to add more fuel which as far as I know helps with heat and detonation.

I'm not very learned in forced induction so...

Some supercharger kits come with one or even two auxiliary injectors. The fuel management program uses these to prevent the mixture from leaning out.

Supercharged vehicles do need more fuel. (more air, more fuel) However I've not heard of using an extra injector, only replacing them with higher lb./hr pieces and changing fuel pumps. Anyone else hear anything about this?

The extra injector is common for aftermarket supercharged or turbo applications. The stock MAP sensor on most N/A vehicle can only read vaccum. Therefore one of the easiest ways to get extra fuel is to control the extra injectors when you start to build boost.

I see...they should just reprogram the pcm for a longer pulsewidth at a given boost level. The longer the injector is open the more fuel.

Most kits that have extra injector have what they call a fuel management unit or fmu. This is better than having your pcm reprogramed because you can usually do the programming yourself.

Also dave, like I said, the factory MAP doesn't read boost. So even if you could reprogram your stock PCM, it would never receive a pressure signal.

The procharger that I have included an inline fuel pump that increases fuel pressure. My PCM uses the stock pulswidth, and the fuel pump increases presure and boost increases.

I always figured they included some type of module/sensors that took care of reading boost, mapping fuel, etc. Time to school myself again. Thanks for the info guys.

My vortech kit has 2 extra injectors directly into the airhat. I also have a fmu.
