Message: Do all dakota r/t's come with a separate auxillary transmission
cooler. My friend has a '99 Dakota R/T 5.9 I was thinking of
purchasing, I think getting one would be good insurance.
Is there a brand/model of tranny cooler that is an easy fit for the
R/T?
Where is a good place to mount it?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Message: I think they only have the cooler internal to the radiator. Adding one would not be a bad idea though. Some mount to the front of the rad...some mount underneath the truck. I would check out any company that sells trans kits. That would be a 46RE transmission FYI. Have fun...

Message: My 98 Dakota RT came with an auxilliary tranny cooler. I think that it is standard on most RT's. I recently replaced it because I broke it when I took out my radiator. I used the existing metal hard lines with new fittings to connect it to a B&M Supercooler. Works great and it is a lot better construction than the really thin OEM model. I used part # 70266 from B&M. Hope that helps.
