depends on what you mean by best,,,, some woll stop you quicker then stock, some last longer, but do not stop any quicker then stock, some say cheap is better then expensive but I never could figure that out, and some say the more you pay the more you get. so define what you mean by best.
and true, some pads are not compatable with some rotors, as some pads are hard and some are relitivly soft, the same goes for the rotors, you want a soft pad with a hard rotor for rotor life and a hard pad with soft rotors for pad life, and ALL compatable rotor/pad combos are a compromise between the two. so do a little reasearch on the web sites of the brands you are considering and learn to read between the lines and make your own desicion, as everybody's driving style and vehicle use is different.
