Subject: Loss of Torqe on Catback? IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2001 Motorsports Edition Dak Club Cab, and want to throw a cat back on. Thinking maybe Gibson. But, I have read about them, and hear that you loose torqe on the low end of the tach. I enjoy chirping my tires when at a light with a ricer, with the decals all over them and the 4 foot wing on the back, and then just taking off and leaving them in the dust. Anyway, I know with the split rear atleast, you gain alot on the higer end of the tach at higher speeds. But, I was thinking about maybe the single side exhaust. But if anyone has any suggestions, id appreciate it. I dont really wanna modify it too much. Just throw a cat back on and an intake. So if anyone has any suggestions, id appreciate it! thanks

Message: its not true about the torque thing...that is only if u eliminate way too much backpressure which gibson doesn't do

Message: I've got a Gibson stainless swept-side cat-back on my QC, and can say that it was nothing but an improvement over the stock exhaust. Better performance, better sound.

Message: Spend the money and get the MBRP set up. I have the 4.7 5-speed and the MBRP increased my bottom end as well as the top.
