I just bought an '00 Dak QC, 4.7, auto,4x4 and was wondering what kind of exhaust I should put on it? I was thinking of just buying a Flowmaster 40 series muffler and having my local shop bend the tubing and run it from the cat-back (esssentially having them make me a cat-back system) and I wouldn't have to pay for a "whole kit" from flowmaster. I want a deep tone, but do not want it real loud, and also do not want to hurt my performance or economy. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks! Keep on Dakin'!!

I've got a Gibson single exhaust on my 03 CC. It sounds pretty good to me. With a cold air intake it sounds awsome at WOT. My computer say's I get 17.7 MPG. I went with single exhaust to maintain the torque. Check it out at http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2040646

Thanks! I called around to a few exhaust shops and one quoted me $275 for a flowmaster exhaust system installed. The other quoted me a Dynomax exhaust system with custom bent pipe from the cat back at $150 installed. Think I'll go with the Dynomax.

Does any one have true duals? I was thinking of either running a single 3" or dual 2.5" with an X pipe and wondering if anyone had either.

Dakata I had a exhaust shop make me a true dual system for about 700. setup is 2"exhaust pipes no cat.with 02sensors installed in same location. Xpipe,2-Flowmaster 50series mufflers,2-2.25 tailpipes out the sides behind rear wheels. Not too loud just right. No MIL lights. Got some HP gains too.

Do you all think a true dual exhaust is worth the money over just running a cat back on a 4.7?

Some people have put it on a dyno, and have gotten as much as a 20 hp gain, and the true dual setup is pretty much the only way you'll make power because of the x-pipe. its not my money so its up to you. ask around to see what other people think

I just had my exhaust ran on my truck 3" from the Y pipe to a Flowmaster 50 series dual 2.5" out the back sounds awsome and made a good power difference everywhere. Cost me 300 dollars worth every penny.
