Subject: T-Bar cranking, strange button IP: Logged
Message: Was thinking about cranking my torsion bars this week, but when I put a level on the door sills, they all read level. Checked my garage floor with a 6ft level and that is level too. Could the previous owner have already done this? Also, I have this little black button above the e-brake release, under the dash. Any clues as to what the hell this is???

Message: 2000 QC 4x4 SLT 4.7l, auto, 3.92 LSD. Bought the truck used in March. (Only had 42,300 miles) Couldn't pass it up. Fully loaded. Tow package, all power, Infinity sterio system, Linex spray in bedliner, soft bed cover, radiators for tranny, power steering, already had the rubber flap removed next to radiator. Just started mods with Mobil 1 synthetic oil, Home brew intake to stock air box. Followed your lead by drilling a 3in hole under fender for more air. Changing plugs this week, as well as tranny, and rearend fluid to Royal Purple. Flowmaster 40 maybe in a week or 2. Then 180 thermostat and new shocks.

Message: If that button is same as mine, it's the "hidden" disarm button for your alarm system. Since you're fully loaded with power everything, you likely have Dodge's EVS II alarm system. Works good, but not full-featured (after a time delay, the alarm sets itself, but does not lock the doors).
If you lock your truck with a fob, and it chirps (or horn sounds) twice, then you got it.

Message: The button is a hidden dis arm? You mean, you could break in and just push that button? That would suck.
I am happy with my factory security and home brew anti-theft I have now.
