 Subject: bent axle shaft

someone hit me in a parking lot pass. rear wheel and now the shaft is bent. it wobbles a little when i jack it up put in gear you can see it. i really dont feel it on the road and havn't noticed any tire wear yet but will this thing be ok for a while i just had the bearing replaced not to long ago? the insurance gave me a check for it and if its not absolutly necessary i won't fix it .

I would be concerned > If your sure it's the axle and not the wheel, most likely it is bent right where the bearing is located > My concern would be the bearing may be moving slightly in the housing and eventually will egg shape it on you > Now your talking new housing > Just my thinking here
