i had my check engine light come on the other day. done the key on off 3 times and came up with p0551 which is an error for the power steering switch. i was wondering how to go about fixing this problem. i took it to the dealership and they wouldn't even give me a price for fixing this error.

Had the same problem. Cost about $75, for both parts and labor. Had to special order the part. Took 2 weeks to come in. Drove mine for 3 weeks with the check engine light.

I can't be sure, but I believe the PS switch causing the idle to raise on hard turns (parking lot manuevers, etc.) I think it just monitors pressure. Don't quote me on that.
