Subject: Where is the AC drain hose? IP: Logged
Message: Where the **** is the air conditioning drain hose? Someone told me it's on the passenger side right behind the valve covers, but it's not there (or it's invisible)...
I had this sloshing noise that sounded like 10 gallons of water trapped in my dashboard for like 4 days in a row due to constant ac use on 100+ days. The today, there is a little flap that closes and opens when you turn it to "max ac mode" and that thing started making a sound like a screw unthreading and bouncing around. Dodge told me it's like $12 if the actuature is bad, but it's like a million dollars in labor to fix it because they have to "take the whole dashboard apart" - thanks again Chrysler.
So seriously though, does anyone know where the ac drain hose is on a 2000 Club cab 4.7 full time 4WD dakota is?? :)

Message: I have a 2000 CC and a 02 Sport both 4.7's. The drain tube is on the passanger side, behind a metal heat shield near the cat. I removed the wheel well skirt and crawled under it to remove it. I put a 1/5 pvc street ell with a small hose clamp to redirect the condensate. So far so good. Had to bend the shield a bit to get it back on over the pvc elbow. Good luck, not too bad a job. Got the plastic clips to reinstall the skirt at Auto Zone.

Message: Jason111, Make sure you check for water under the carpet (right front floor). The drain tubes had a bad habit of allowing condensation to dribble back along the bottom of the tube, through the firewall, and down to the floor.
I applied the same fix as Big Ed.
BTW...DCX replaced the carpet for me F-O-C

Message: Every time I have heard water sloshing around in the dash,it usually means that there is an air pocket in the cooling system.Look for antifreeze leaking somewhere. If you don't have any leaks, top it off and the sloshing noise usually disappears.
