 Subject: heater core pics

i recently replaced my heater core and im not getting full air flow thru my dash vents. it blows on the floor and defrosts like normal but almost no air comes out my dash vents. does anyone have this problem? does anyone have a pic of what the heater box under dash is supposed to look like inside. im thinking maybe i put one of the flaps back in there wrong. thanks for all your guys help in advance. this site has helped me so much in the past i know you guys will come thru for me again.

I think you forgot to hook up one of the vaccum hoses for the controls. Take a look at that, my buddy had the same problem!!

no they are hooked up because i can switch it to all floor or defrost just fine. it just doesnt blow thru the vents that blow on your face.

You missed something. I went through this myself and I did miss a hose. I now have a cracked hose up in there somewhere as I lose my vents on Max after about 30 seconds.

Open the hood and find the little plastic vacuum line that runs through the firewall to the heater box.You forgot to hook it up.If you can't find it sticking out of the firewall,it's probably still in the cab under the floorboard.Sorry to say you're gonna have to pull the dash and box away from the firewall again and be sure to feed that little line through the firewall.This line runs from the box inside the cab out to the motor at a tee.If you listen close,you probably have a small vacuum leak from this line not being hooked up.

the one under the hood is hooked up. does anyone one have pics of the heater box open? i need to see where all the moving flaps go. thanks
