Subject: 360 flywheel 5spd?
IP: Logged

Message:
I'm doing a swap from 3.9 (5spd nv3500) to a 5.9 with a vortech supercharger. The motor comes complete with gibson headers, msd 6a and all that jazz. From what I've read I need a 360 flywheel, where do I find this relatively cheap? Also is this going to have weights on it or not? I've already got the wiring harness/computer, just need info on the flywheel.

The motor is a '99 durango motor with 22k miles on it and my truck is a 2002 dakota cc.

Typically, the flywheel is set up by removing the required amount of weight, as evidenced by half-moon shaped depressions in the flywheel material. However, I'm sure weight can be added as needed. The cheapest way would probably be to have your V6 unit balanced for the 360, which will mean some weight will have to be added. Don't know of any place that offers flywheel on the cheap.

Oooops, sorry, a re-balanced V6 unit will not work. Forgot about the MPI issue. Nope, you're gonna have to bite the bullet and buy the 360 unit.
