Subject: GMC 2500 HD IP: Logged
Message: Eh guys Ive got a friend that just picked up a GMC 2500 HD these things are rated at like 300hp and 520tq but it dosen't seem that fast.He wants to race. I suppose he'd kill me goin up a hill or something but. What do you's think have you ever raced one? Ive got a 03 4.7cc 4x4 auto sport plus with airraid intake, tb spacer, dynomax muffler single in duel out?? any ideas??

What engine does he have? my dad has an 01' silverado 2500hd. His has the 6.0L v8.. it has alot of torque (4.10 GEARS), but its in a big truck so my dak should scrub it.. it's made for towing ayways.. ha's punched it with me in it before, the 4L60E auto has good kickdown.. I say go for it.. the 4.7L is a rev-happy engine, you should get him in the upper RPM range.. let us know if you race him.

Message: Thx man. His truck is a 03?04? with a 6.6 but you're right I think its like 6500lbs or something. I think I'll take him but it's hard to believe when you look at that kinda tq and hp! Its got his work name and number on it so we're goin to wait till the beginning of next month 2days when there arn't so many cops around trying to fill there monthly quoatas. Have you ever taken your truck to the track any Idea of what you 1/4 times would be?? You don't usually see too many people timing there 4x4s. And do you know your weight??

Message: If the 2500 HD is stock, you should be able to beat him. Stock diesels are torquey but max out around 3400 rpm. Your 4.7 may lose of the line, but your top end should beat him out.

Message: yea. only idiots take their 4x4's to the track. unless your one of those people who go way out and have like 800 hp and sh!t. if you care about 1/4 mile times, why get a 4x4?
on another note for sh!ts and giggles, your dakota will probably get smoked off the line, unless your running 4.11:1 gears. but you will definately take him in the long run. why? you have way less torque, but also alot less weight. and opposite for him.

Message: hey man my buddy has the same truck bone stock...if u have the 4.7L u will smoke his azz dude! I beat my friend in his by at least 3 trucklengths. Yeah he had me in the first ten feet but then i hit my powerband... o yeah i have a stock 4.7L have fun gettin a kill!

Message: no I don't now my weight or 1/4 imes... its a 4x4 LOL! its fun to drive for a 4x4 though :-) the superchips tuner makes the tranny shift much better.. it does good even with the gears and tires I have (3:55 gears, and 31x10.5 15 tires) Some day I will get 4.10s..

Message: The combination of gen 3, 4.7 engine, 5 sp manual, 2wd, 3.92 "LSD", tire and handling group option (255/65/15), is the recipe for a fast Dak.
It will beat any stock truck, like i do, except the Lightning and SRT 10.
The basic mods and bolt ons we have, adds up to the certainty of that.
My truck, as described is well respected w/ all my friends, and that feels good.
A few times i loose, is when i screw up jumping from 2nd to 3rd gear. Well...
