Message: July 22nd I attended fast friday at Atlanta Dragway I made 4 passes the track was very hot and very slick the outside temp when we pulled into the parking lot was 104. my buddy has a 93 mustang 5.0 he was running 15.4's friday but when he could get traction back in May he was running 14.50's. I was running 14.80's which I didn't think was too bad with a 60' time of 2.4 I would spin thru 1st and part or 2nd before it would hook up. There was another 2001 R/T just like mine down there but had alittle more stuff done to it and was running 15.50's. I just have gibson headers, true dual spintechs with out cats, MSD 6A ignition with MSD blaster SS coil, autolite 3923's and relocated IAT sensor rolling on 255/55/17 Nitto 555. I am getting me some nitto 555R's just to take to the strip hopefully I will hook up.

Message: If it were me (and it's not), I would invest in a pair of DoT track only tires and wheels. It's a little bit more in initial investment. But they will last a whole lot longer and you don't have to worry about street use.

What size engine does the `01 R/T come with and how do you think it might compare to the `05 new redesign 4.7L?
Do you remember how much HP your truck had stock from the dealer?
The `05 non-HO 4.7L has 230HP. I've added a Cat-Back System, K&N Equipment and I'm having JBA Headers installed on Wednesday.
The HO 2005 4.7L is pulling 250HP so with my current mods I hope I'm somewhere above the 230HP base line.
I was just wondering so if I pull up next to a Dakota R/T I'll know what I'm up against.
Thank you.

Message: well Dakotajimbo, when you and your sister are cruising down the road after performing sexual acts on each other you may see that all R/T Dakotas come with a 5.9L 360ci engine with 250hp stock and around 340 ft/lbs I will assure you that if you pull up beside an R/T with the same mods you will get smoked, well atleast I was smoking a 4.7 HO 5 speed with slicks at the dragstrip.
I just got me a set of 15" rims for the back .bOB so now I am just waiting for the 9" wide slicks to come in

Message: I heard stock for stock 5 speed 4.7's where a good match for a R/T at the track. In some cases won more of the races. I'm talking stock.

Message: I have a 4.7L 5 speed Club Cab loaded with a Throttle Body and Exhaust and I turn 14.5 @ 94 mph. I've pulled up next to many R/Ts and watched them fade in the mirror. Had one that I coulda talked to while we ran it was so close, but he was well modded.
