 Subject: winding sound

I have a 5.2L 4x4 and when ever I really stand on it I can here a winding sound from the passenger side of the truck. (thats were it sounds like it comes from but???). Anybody know what that might be? Never noticed it before. And do any sensers need to be reset after the battary has been disconnected.(getting bad Fuel mileage after shop repairs)???
