Subject: 4.7L Wire no location

I just took off my factory air box and all (2001 4.7L), and noticed what looks like a ground wire (has a factory sticker with a big "F" on it) that is not connected to anything. There is another wire that looks just like it (labeled "D") connected to a screw on the fire wall. I am guessing these are ground wires (silverish grey in color). But I have no clue where this "F" wire goes. I don't think it should just be layin there. Anyone know?

Does the end of the wire have any kind of terminal connector or lug attached?

The end of the wire is like a metal loop that looks like it goes through a bolt and gets held on by a nut.

Anyone have an idea what this wire is for, should I just ground this wire?

All those words and can't tell where the loose wire is. Was it under the filter box, or the air box that sits on the engine, or somewhere else? Kinda describe its placement when you found it. That might get some curious soul to go look under his hood, find one of his own, and tell you what it gets connected to.
I would do it but the description given only narrows it to the engine compartment.

take the truck to the dealership. ask the service manager to come out and look at the wire and ask him where it goes too. its the easiest way. than asking everyone and getting different answers.

The nearest dealer is almost an hr away. If I can't figure it out, then eventually I'll get to the dealer. I live in the country. The wire is on the passenger side comes from the middle of the firewall (it then goes over the accumulator). Right now it is just layin there on the inside tire fender. There is another wire just like it except it is stamped "D" that is grounded to the firewall.

I have a '00 (11/2000 production) and only have
the "F" ground cable which comes off the main harness and bolts to the body. which also has a two pin connector with only one wire (BLACK/RED TRACER) as part of the connector (spade type). hope this makes sense and helps if any.
'00 4.7L SPORT 2WD.
(production of November of year 2000)

Well, it surely wasn't attached to any part of the intake assembly, it would be really stupid to ground something to plastic, lol. I'm not sure if that helps, but it's just my .02
