Subject: tranny seems to be slipping

Hi there, I'm hoping someone can help me.

I have a 1992 Dakota 4x4 ex cab with a 318, and lots of kms on it (over 300k). The last couple days I've noticed the transmission seems to be slipping, what would cause this? I had the tranny rebuilt last year, I don't think I need to tell you guys how expensive that was...

About 2 months ago, the tranny hose blew but it was replaced immediately and it was towed to a garage even though it was only about 2 miles away. They cleaned up the mess and refilled the fluid.

Here's what it does, when I step on the gas (while stopped) I can hear the engine rev up before the truck starts moving, and I can literally feel a "slip" in the gas pedal. And when I am moving, it feels like it's not shifting when it should. I don't know any other way to explain it, but it doesn't feel right. Any ideas what it could be?

I've been reading a bit on this forum, could it be possibly be a sensor problem? or could it be a timing problem?

I'm an automotive dummy, any help or ideas would be appreciated.... I'm almost ready to throw a match in the gas tank....thanks

What fluid did they put in it when the hose blew?
Mopar trannys are very finnicky with what you put in them. I will go for a bargain if it won't hurt anything, but from my own experience, I will only use Mopar fluid and Mopar filters in my tranny, and pay the extra $$ at the dealership to protect my investment. Don't add any modifiers either, just Mopar Dexron 3 or 4+.
