Message: Get under the truck below the engine compartment and you will see a round plastic access cover. Give it about half a turn and it will come off and you will see your oil filter.

Message: My 4.7 is driver side front of engine. Lay on the ground in front of your truck, open the round access door on the underskirting below the radiator.

Message: Also, when you change it, cut a 2 liter coke bottle in halve and hold it over the filter as you unscrew it or you'll get oil all over your arm.

Message: I changed my oil last weekend and finally dropped in som AMSOIL 10w30
Anyway. I was using a cut out coke 2-liter bottle and damn it I DROPPED the thing up in there and made an even BIGGER mess!
Anyway. It's EASY to get to the oil filter on a 4.7, but NOT easy to avoid making a mess :(

Message: I decided to make that plastic splash guard a bit easier to remove, so I replaced those push-in pins with dzus (sp?) fasteners. Screwdriver and about 15 seconds and it's out of the way. Still use the 2 liter bottle trick, though.
