Subject: hard time selling my Dak IP: Logged
Message: i'm having the hardest time selling my '99 Dak. its been up for sale for 5 months now and hardly a nibble of interest in it.
i was wondering if anyone else has encountered any difficulties or if anyone had any speculation as to why no one is interested in it. my buddy has been trying to sell his 2004 for 6 months.
mine is a '99 5.2L club cab sport.

Message: i didn't want to turn this into an advertisement for my truck but its got 108K and i'm asking $8500.
that seems very reasonable to me. the truck is in very good condition. no injuries.

Message: yeah no 4x4, too many miles for the price. and most people want a new one and don't want to drop that much on an older truck. its easier to get a loan for a new one anywayz. but try advertising more it might help.

I'm sure the details on your truck may vary as well as the area that you live in so check it out for yourself.

KBB says $8445 for my area
it has a towing package, bed liner and soft cover for the bed.
Dealerships in the area are selling the same truck for 12K.

Message: No offense, but noone will pay that much of a price for a truck.
They can easily get one at a dealership with a warranty for $11,000.
Why would they buy one from you for so much?
The best way to get money out of it is to trade it in for whatever you want.
Bring your KBB value with you too, $6,375
Whenever dealing with a car dealer, always make two trips.
First trip, talk to a dealer and get him/her to look at your truck and come to an agreement on what its worth before you talk about looking at any of thier vehicles.
Get the dealers name and price written down.
Leave.
Second trip, talk to a different dealer, look at the vehicle you want, work them down on price the best you can.
Then bring up the fact, hey, I have a trade in and this is what your dealership said my truck is worth.
Point, set, and match. You go home with a new vehicle and get your moneys worth out of your Truck.
