Message: ummm... couldn't you just get a high flow cone filter and make your own intake...just by cuttin the hose off of the air box and get the same effect instead of payin around 150-300 for an intake?

Message: I would be better to go to Home Depot and pick up some PVC or ABS tubing and make your own. It works better than the corrugated air tube.

I've had one on my 4.7, for years, as have others.
If you do it, you may want to think about still allowing the intake to get cooler air-As in not from directly under the hood.
You didn't say what you have, but the stocker on a 4.7, is actually damn good, for many reasons though.
