 Subject: 4.7 Header Gains

I have read both good and bad on headers for the 4.7L. Some say noticed improvement and others say waste of money. What do you all think and what are some good brands.

I think FULL LENGTH headers would benifit. But they seem rare. Most ppl sell the shorties.

So the shorties that they sell for around $300 like Gibson and JBA wont due much for performance?

The 4.7L engine is designed such that shortie headers, by themselves, won't have much effect on overall HP & Torque.
There are also fit and finish problems with some. Search the board and you will find them.
For a dramatic, noticeable change, you'll want to install some HO cams.
