Subject: engine fan 2 ? IP: Logged
Message: Why do I have two engine fans on my new 2002 quad cab with 5.9?
Why a mechanical fan plus a electric fan? I've read a post where someone took off their engine fan. Anyone else do this? Is the electric good enough by itself?

Message: people are taking off the clutch fan for more power...it relieves drag on the engine. so it give you better MPG when driving nice....and more torque when drving like a mad man. if you do this i belive you need to switch your thermostat to a 180...and get a thermostat adj. switch for your stock fan to turn it on sooner...BUT IF YOU LIVE IN A HOT CLIMATE....IT IS RECOMMENDED TO NOT DO THIS.
