Why do I have two engine fans on my new 2002 quad cab with 5.9?
Why a mechanical fan plus a electric fan? I've read a post where someone took off their engine fan. Anyone else do this? Is the electric good enough by itself?

people are taking off the clutch fan for more power...it relieves drag on the engine. so it give you better MPG when driving nice....and more torque when drving like a mad man. if you do this i belive you need to switch your thermostat to a 180...and get a thermostat adj. switch for your stock fan to turn it on sooner...BUT IF YOU LIVE IN A HOT CLIMATE....IT IS RECOMMENDED TO NOT DO THIS.
