Message: I had one of those in a 66 Plymouth during high school in the mid 80's. Sold the whole car for $150 and saw it driving around town years later.
I don't know how much it's worth, but I beat the livin piss out of my car and the engine never blew up ;-)

Message: I got a rusty FuryIII with a 383 for $700. The 383 will go into my 66 Charger until I can afford a better engine. The one I got has 62K and still purrs. I'm just trying to figure out which Transmission is better and I'm leaning towards the on in the fury.

Message: The 383s were produced in much higher numbers than the other Chrysler big blocks and are not worth as much as the 440, but it is still a good engine. In think yours would make anywhere between 290hp and 330hp stock depending on the carbs used.
