Subject: 5.2 V8 Dual Exhaust, No Cat

Message:
I have a 1997 SLT 5.2 V8 With a staight 3" pipe running from where the manifold pipes meet to a 3" in dual 2 1/2" out Flowmaster Original 40 Series, obviously with no CAT. The sound is Awsome and I am just trying to fine tune it. Except there is kindof a Cackling in the Section of 3" pipe between the manifolds and the Flowmaster. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a way to eliminate this cackling without sacrificing the current Tone or Volume. I've been told to either add a 3inch " Straight Through " Glass Pack to match the pipe before the flowmaster to help regulate the sound and eliminate the cackle, OR, run all new smaller pipe from the manifolds to the flowmaster ( And if smaller what size?) Anyone input on this matter would be greatly appreciate. Please and Thank You to anyone with Knowledgable Advice.
