alex dont be surprised if you dont see a difference, it might just be very minor, nevertheless its good for the motor, dont spend $20 a plug on platinum ones though thats crazy, keep the autolites

Kudos to Alex for discovering the fine performance Autolite sparkplugs. You'll find faster starts, smoother idle, and improved fuel economy.

Friends, don't delay, follow Alex's lead and try a set of Autolite sparkplugs today won't you?

Alex, what Harlow didn't tell you was that you shold try the 3923's..... That will give you a little extra "pep and zing" in your motor. It's a colder plug than the 5224, which is a direct replacement for the stock plug.

Autolite Plugs are the only plugs I have used that would consistently foul in my ford. I was useing Bosch Platniums first 50,000 in my old 85 ford then one day Walmart had sale on autolite platnim plugs. I bought some and the were fould be my next oil change. I cleaned them and put them back in. Next oil change I checked them again due to poor MPG. Once again they were fouled. I put another set of bosch platniums in and left them alone for another 50,000 miles and they never fouled. I have also had good luck with NGK and Denso plugs.

New SPARK PLUG FORUM?
IP: Logged

Message:
I think we should have a separate forum just for spark plugs. I have never seen so much attention or simultaneously running threads being payed to the lowliest of parts.

BTW, what kind of valve stem caps is everybody running? Hahaha

My friends, the other "harlow wilcox" is obviously frustrated with his poor running vehicle.

His insults don't bother me one bit.

For a cure, he needs to install a set of Autolite ignition engineered sparkplugs. No longer will he "bog" down on takeoff at stop lights nor will he be passed by on the freeway by lesser vehicles. He'll immediately notice improved pep, fuel economy and faster starts.

But alas, if he decides to stick with worn out spark plugs, I wish him well nonetheless.

I am still running the factory valve stem caps. I am still looking to upgrade to the platinum 4-tip anodized ultra-spif caps soon, but I can't find anybody with a decent price. Does speedtweaks carry these?

I must say that I have tried the Autolite 3923's in my 99 5.2 cc 44 both before and after the msd6a w/ blaster 3 coil and noticed no difference. Changed them to Bosch Supers and noticed much better throttle response and a little better mpg. I just bought a set of NGK V-power plugs, we'll see what happens this weekend. Oh and by the way for any of you who spend the extra money on Borg warner or accell cap and rotors, Napa makes most of the parts for borg warner and it's cheaper.

OK so what we have all solved here is this "try it, if it works then great, if it doesnt then get different ones."

Let's put it like this:

$1.19 x 8 = $9.52

It's basically $10 w/ tax to see if it works on your truck. If it doesn't spend another $10 on what has worked for you in the past.
