Subject: 4.7 Upgrade PCM IP: Logged
Message: Does anyone have the Mopar Performance PCM for the 4.7L? If so, how much did it cost (& from where did you buy it), and was it worth the price for performance gained? I don't know if I should go with this or just get my current PCM flashed. I can't really afford to tie my truck up as it is my only ride, so I would rather get an aftermarket. Any recommendations on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Message: That part was never released. I'm happy with the fash I got, ran the truck on a boneyard PCM while it was being flashed.

Message: How long did it take to get the PCM back and who did you have Flash it? KRCperformance seems legit so far, I am thinking of them.

Message: 2001 - From what I am hearing there is no aftermarket PCM after 2000, so my only options are flash and tuners. With my truck being pretty stock, I'm not sure flash would help yet.

Message: I got the Mike Leach flash that was originally only available for the '00; but I hear they can do it for the '01 as well now. It took a while with mine - UPS (pronounced "oops") screwed up big time and sent mine to Alaska instead of MA, I was glad I picked up a boneyard PCM for $80 to run my truck while waiting. The flash should still help, the extra ignition advance works well with a stock motor or as a compliment to other mods. Those with manual transmissions are the only ones I've heard not as pleased; I believe the manuals come with more ignition advance in stock form. Felt tlike about as much gain as the HO cams to me, all I have is those and a ported 68mm TB with K&N drop in.

Message: Where did you find a PCM for $80? I am being told $400 for an auto wrecker unit, and $800 for a Dodge factory part.

The URL above was very long, it'll probably take you 2 copy/pastes to get in up to your URL line.
