not sure if my problem has been discussed but... when the weather is hot my oil pressure fluctuates from none at idle to ok at 2500 rpm. in the winter the pressure is fine. pressure sensor or pump? any opinions or experience welcome. thanks

put a mechanical gage on it to be sure you're getting accurate readings. i memory serves me right, the FSM states warm @ idle 6psi is ok. and 35 psi @ rpm.

I have had the same problem on mine. Just starting an engine swap on mine so once I get the old 318 torn down I will know for sure.

The oil pressure sending unit can fail, which may cause some of those symptoms. In addtion over time and high miles you can get sludge buildup in the engine that partially clogs the oil pick up screen. This will result in a temporary loss in pressure at times. Also check your oil level. Mine would have identical symptoms when I let the oil get too low.
