Message: Where is the thermostat located on a 2000 4.7 liter? The bottom hose or behind the water pump(something that wouldn't suprize me from Dodge).

Message: I have an 04 Dak CC 2wd with the 4.7L.
I also have the factory service manual on a CD
(you can find them on EBAY for about 10 bucks)
The thermostat is located at the base of the engine at the connection point for the lower radiator hose! A totally pain in the arse location. My 93 3.9L Dak CC had it sitting nice and pretty on top.

Message: Thanks Matt,
That's what I figured, but I wanted to make sure before I drained the system. Dodge does a lot ot goofy crap, like using a nylock nut on the front spindle instead of a castle nut, and routing an a/c line directly over a spark plug hole, if it were 1" one way or the other, you wouldn't have to take the support loose to change the damn plugs.

Message: I changed the thermostat, Matt was right, what a pain in the ass to get to. You can't really get to it well from above and the cross member blocks from below. I would like to meet the jackass that decided to put it there.
