 Subject: Weird humming sound

I don't know what this weird humming sound is but when ever my truck idles it will be quiet for a while then a weird humming sound will start then stop and start again and it sits there makin a weird sound whenever I idle. Is it the fan and does anybody elses 5.2 do this when it idles?

i would think either the cooling fan or a/c compressor.

Check all your pulleys and bearings like in your waterpump, powersteering pump, tensioners ...
