i understand that the 45rfe's have something called torque management. and by disableing this, you would increase the power. is there the same thing on a 93 5.2L auto 4x4?

I think on the 45RFE's the wire that you cut just disables the signal the tranny sends to the PCM that tells it to send less power through the transmission during shifts. Since I'm almost positive the transmission on the 5.2 isn't controlled by electronics, I don't think there's anything that you can do.

Torque Management retards engine timing a bit during Wide Open Throttle (WOT) shifts, so your 45RFE clutch packs won't take such a hit when the tranny shifts gears. It's actually a good thing, unless you're racing.
It does not affect overall engine HP or Torque, except during WOT shifts.
