Message: run a 9.0 with aluminum heads. You lose about a point of compression with aluminum heads compared to cast iron heads, due to the faster rate of heat dissipation of aluminum

Message: Don't plan on running 10# with 9:1, you'll go through head gaskets faster than Kirsty Alley goes through Malomars. Shoot for 8:1 and up the boost if needed, it's a whole lot easier than lowering the CR after you've built your motor.

Message: If i was to run the 8:1, would that hurt my bottem end speed, or would it just help prolong the life of the headgasket.
My S/C is actually a powerdyne with the 9# pulley, so is 8:1 still recomended?
Thanks, i am new to all of this.

Message: The SC will cover lower CR so the low-end power will be fine. Stay conservative on the boost and CR. A little too much means blown head gaskets, or toasted pistons. Superchargers are like "instant-on" power. They pull from down low. You just don't want to exceed what your engine can handle in current configuration. To handle more boost, you need o-ringed heads and forged pistons for starters.

Message: actually i believe it would be the block to be o-ringed.

Message: Yeah, the block was what I meant. I do that all the time. Although, some methods involve cutting the o-ring groove in both the heads and the block, it's preferred on Mopars to groove the block only....from what I have read.
