Subject: Limited Slip Broke...

My limited Slip differential broke.. the plates inside snapped. Any Ideas What I can do.. I was quoted a pretty penny to replace it. I have a 2001 Dodge dakota V8 with 4.7l This truck has been nothing but a Piece of Crap.

Did you ever have your fluid checked? Did you go mudding and never change the fluid after? Sometimes those crappy plugs don't hold up well to water and come loose. Have it rebuilt for about $800 and get a new differential cover with a better plug, thats what happened to me .

as long as its just the plates... just get a new trac loc. shouldnt cost more than $350.

If it is nothing but a piece of crap then sell it and buy something else! But don't complain about something that was not designed to be hammered on.If you want to spin the tires and play in the mud or go to the track and race then you need to have a setup to do that.The stock setup is a tough unit but not bullet proof.
