Subject: 1992 NEEDS HELP!! IP: Logged
Message: 1992 Dodge Dakota SLE v8 power everything .. started easily almost instantly then driving down the highway 15 or 20 minutes later it just quit like the ignition had been turned off.. it will crank but will not start..
It has had the computer replaced twice as well as the coil and battery..after the second computer replacement nothing gets to the computer as far as codes..
Does anyone have an experience like this or any ideas to help find the cause?
Could it be in the wiring in the tilt wheel from the switch down?
What about the auto shut down and how do you trace the wiring to it?
Any ideas or suggestions are welcome and needed..

Scroll down to J and J Auto's first post and read about the 3 wire splice that commonly goes bad from corrosion. Good luck! Don't forget to post a follow up if it fixes your problem or if you find something else.
